Discovering Peace and the Sacred in the Holy Land — A Sacred Pilgrimage

with Dr. Hafiz Neil Rothenberg

Western Wall Israel

Please join us in this rare opportunity for spiritual pilgrimage in the Holy Land, featuring visits with Jewish, Christian and Muslim peacemakers in the Holy Land and outings to a variety of sites sacred to each of these faith traditions.

The trip will begin in Jerusalem and include visits to Western Wall and Church of the Holy Sepulchre. While in Jerusalem we will also visit Bethlehem. Our next stop will be the Jewish holy city of Tiberius on the Sea of Galilee with visits planned to Tsfat (Safed), the centre of Jewish mystical tradition and the Mount of the Beatitudes and Capernaum.

Journeying through the desert our next stop will be Beersheba, with visits to the weekly Bedouin market and a local village. From there we will head north with stops at Dead Sea, the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve and Nabi Musa (a Muslim holy site dedicated to Moses). Our trip will conclude with a visit to the cosmopolitan metropolis of Tel Aviv, an outing to the medieval town of Jaffa, & time to head to the beach and shop in local markets.

The tour will provide us with the special opportunity to meet with Jewish, Muslim and Christian peacemakers from the Abrahamic Reunion (theabrahamicreunion.org), who have been dedicated since 2004 to work as a network of religious and spiritual leaders to create interreligious dialogue, cooperation, understanding, and peacefulness in the Holy Land. All proceeds from the tour will be donated to assist the organization in their on-going peacemaking activities.

The tour will be led by Hafiz Neil Rothenberg. Hafiz has extensive travel experience in Israel, having first visited there in 1976. He has also been teaching meditation for over 40 years and is a leader of a Sufi Order International centre in Toronto, Canada. Hafiz has recently completed a Doctor of Business Administration degree and teaches at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Abrahamic Reunion.
